HERE’S WHY EAGLES ARE RIDING HIGH IN NFC EAST AT 4-1!

By Art Beitchman

As the Eagles dispatched the Arizona Cardinals 34-7 last Sunday to stay on top of the NFC East at 4-1, the Birds played at a high level for the full 60 minutes, in all three phases, offense, defense, special teams.

Eagle fans now have a glimpse of what kind of team they have going forward with 11 games left.

QB Carson Wentz was fantastic throwing 4 TD passes to 4 different recipients, his first 4 TD games as an Eagle!

TE Trey Burton hauled in a 15-yarder in the left corner of the end zone.

Zach Ertz kept the party going with a nice catch and dive for an 11-yard strike.

Next was a 59-yard catch and run by WR Torrey Smith (above) who motored into the end zone for his first TD as a Bird.

To cap off the deep ball scoring, Wentz lofted a ball downfield that WR Nelson Agholor ran under, put a nifty move on a Cardinals defender and scampered the rest of the way for a 72 yard TD!

Wentz final stats were a sparkling 21-30, 4 TD’s and a QB rating of 128.3! Not a bad day’s work for young Carson!

The ground game was still effective gaining 122 yards on 33 carries, workhorse RB LeGarrette Blount grinding out 74 yards on 14 carries.

Right Tackle Lane Johnson went down with a concussion in the 1st quarter. He most likely will miss the next game as a precaution.

Eagles will travel to Charlotte tomorrow to take on the Panthers, a matchup of two 4-1 NFC foes, 8:25pm/CBS/NFLN.
