Most of the attention at wide receiver during Eagles OTA’s and mini-camp focused on Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith, the two free agents the Birds signed as free agents.
And that’s as it should be.
But they are also “high” on rookie WR Mack Hollins. The Eagles released Dorial Green-Beckham last week due in part to the confidence they have in the fourth-round receiver.
In 2015, North Carolina quarterbacks had a passer rating of 142.8 when throwing to Hollins, this ranked fifth among 332 wide receivers in the NCAA that year.
Hollins built a reputation as a deep threat in college with 1,008 of his 1,667 receiving yards (over 60 percent) coming on deep passes. He scored 20 touchdowns in three seasons at UNC, and 15 of them were on deep passes (20-plus yards in the air).
