The Eagles got down to the league-mandated 53 man limit by 4 p,m, today by releasing the following 21 players:
Quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson, safety and sixth-round pick Blake Countess, defensive tackle Bruce Gaston, linebackers Najee Goode, Don Cherry, Quentin Gause and Myke Tavarres, guard Darrell Greene, wide receivers Marcus Johnson, Cayleb Jones and David Watford, center Barrett Jones, running backs Byron Marshall and Cedric O’Neal, tight ends M.J. McFarland and Chris Pantale, defensive end Jake Metz, cornerback JaCorey Shepherd (above), safety Ed Reynolds, defensive tackle Aziz Shittu, and kicker Cody Parkey.
