The good news for Eagles fans is that injured quarterback Sam Bradford was on the practice field today.

But the bad news is that didn’t have a helmet on as he recovers from a concussion and shoulder injury he suffered in the team’s 20-19 loss to the Miami Dolphins this past Sunday.

To return to the practice field, Bradford will have to pass the NFL’s concussion protocol. Once he passes, it isn’t clear if the injury to his non-throwing shoulder will keep him sidelined.

Running back Ryan Mathews was also absent from practice as he also recovers from a concussion he suffered against the Dolphins. If Mathews is out, it will mean an increased workload for starter DeMarco Murray.

Offensive tackle Jason Peters (back spasms) was back at practice. Peters hasn’t played since he suffered the back injury against the Carolina Panthers back in Week 7.
