HEALTHIER SIXERS ARE SUDDENLY RESEMBLING AN NBA CONTENDER!

By Art Beitchman

With a 4-game winning streak in tow and the Eastern Conference player of the month supercenter Joel Embiid healthy, playing the best basketball of the season, the 20-16 Sixers look to make some noise in the conference the next week or two.

Embiid rounding into the MVP runner-up of a season ago shape has put the team on his back — his last game was a triple-double with 31 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists.

He is much too much for any opponent to handle, and the team is getting close to a full and healthy roster as they try to extend that win streak tonight in Orl.

Getting coach Doc Rivers back on the bench from COVID protocols would be big, also Tyrese Maxey, Paul Reed, and Matisse Thybulle are all expected to rejoin the team soon to strengthen the bench.
