HARPER ON PACE FOR 38 JACKS, PHILS LEAD BRAVES BY 7!

By Sally Hanson

Phils slugger Bryce Harper is on pace to finish the year with 38 home runs, 108 RBI and 103 walks.

In June, Harper has batted .362 and slugged a remarkable .652 over 69 plate appearances.

During that stretch, he’s recorded five extra-base hits and five long balls, including a titanic second-deck shot in the Phillies 12-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday.

The long ball was his 18th of the season, a number he didn’t reach until Aug. 5 last season.

Harper and the Phillies are up seven games over the Braves for the NL East lead and sit atop the NL at 50-26. Meanwhile, there’s only a half-game difference between them and the New York Yankees (52-27) for the best record in baseball.
