GOOD NEWS FOR EAGLES: PANTHERS MCCAFFREY DOUBTFUL SUNDAY!

By Max Harper

Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is doubtful to play on Sunday against the Eagles, says Carolina coach Matt Rhule.

McCaffery said Thursday that he felt great and “definitely” had a chance to play Sunday against the Eagles.

McCaffrey was limited in practice all week after missing the Panthers’ Week 4 matchup against the Cowboys with a hamstring injury he sustained in Week 3. Rhule told reporters Friday that McCaffrey might do some things “health wise” Saturday, but said he wasn’t “going to play any games” with the injury status.

In three games, McCaffrey, 25, has racked up 201 rushing yards and one touchdown on 52 carries. He also has 16 catches for 162 yards.

Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson, who suffered a foot injury in Carolina’s Week 4 loss to Dallas, was officially ruled out.
