It turns out that Patriots QB Tom Brady is just a front-running fan like the rest of us!

Now that Donald Trump has taken a hit in the polls because people have actually had a chance to examine his wild-ass statements on everything from immigration to the economy:

So much for Tom Brady’s endorsement of Donald Trump for president!

The Pats’ golden boy on Monday clarified what he meant when he said earlier this month that a Trump presidency “would be great.”

“It’s just a different world than when I started in professional football. Even an off-handed comment like that, like you said, that people may run with; and I understand why people do run with it because you get the clicks and that type of stuff. It’s just people doing their job. A comment like that, I try to have fun with certain things,” Brady said in an interview with Boston radio station WEEI that was reported by

Brady made waves earlier this month when reporters spotted a red “Make America Great Again” cap in his locker, which he said was a gift from Trump through Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

Asked whether he thought his remarks from earlier this month constituted an endorsement, Brady said that he has known Trump for a long time and that he has “been a fun guy that I’ve had a lot of time around.”
