It turns out that Patriots QB Tom Brady is just a front-running fan like the rest of us!
Now that Donald Trump has taken a hit in the polls because people have actually had a chance to examine his wild-ass statements on everything from immigration to the economy:
So much for Tom Brady’s endorsement of Donald Trump for president!
The Pats’ golden boy on Monday clarified what he meant when he said earlier this month that a Trump presidency “would be great.”
“It’s just a different world than when I started in professional football. Even an off-handed comment like that, like you said, that people may run with; and I understand why people do run with it because you get the clicks and that type of stuff. It’s just people doing their job. A comment like that, I try to have fun with certain things,” Brady said in an interview with Boston radio station WEEI that was reported by Politico.com.
Brady made waves earlier this month when reporters spotted a red “Make America Great Again” cap in his locker, which he said was a gift from Trump through Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
Asked whether he thought his remarks from earlier this month constituted an endorsement, Brady said that he has known Trump for a long time and that he has “been a fun guy that I’ve had a lot of time around.”
