“When I signed here, it was like the laughingstock of baseball. People were saying I committed career suicide,” Werth said. “I feel like a lot of people were wrong, if not everybody, and I was right. I feel like the Nats were, too. Just a big, to me it’s just a big F-you to everyone else. That’s great. That’s how I kind of live my life.”
