Former Eagles president Joe Banner, who was fired last winter from his management job with the Cleveland Browns, obviously has too much time on his hands.

His latest tweet (at the top of this article) is silly, smarmy and creepy, and earlier this week he wondered on Twitter why Rice was not prosecuted further for his actions.

What the hell was the prosecutors office thinking in Ray Rice case. That person should be answering some tough questions.

Sometimes public figures get over penalized to make a statement. Sometimes they get a break, this is an extreme example of the latter

Banner also weighed in on the idea of Rice being released by the Ravens, saying the implications “would be huge.”

Huge cap implications, if Ravens move on from Rice. Structure of last extension provides player leverage. Shouldn’t matter. Big misc. charge

As to whether or not Rice would actually be released, Banner — who worked with Ravens head coach Jon Harbaugh in Philly– seemed confident that something would happen.

Glad to see glazer, Florio and others calling for action. Hard for me to imagine, knowing all the people involved that this won’t be fixed
