The Flyers finished their cleanout sale just before the deadline by trading Michael Raffl to the Washington Capitals for a fifth-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Raffl has scored eight points (three goals, five assists) in 34 games this season. The forward is in the final season of a two-year contract he signed March 26, 2019, and can be an unrestricted free agent after the season.

The 32-year-old has scored 160 points (81 goals, 79 assists) in 504 regular-season NHL games and eight points (five goals, three assists) in 28 Stanley Cup Playoff games. The Flyers signed him May 31, 2013, after he had played eight professional seasons in his native Austria and Sweden.

The Flyers also traded defenseman Erik Gustafsson to the Montreal Canadiens for a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.
