The Flyers haven’t gotten much notice from the national media this season since they have underperformed and are struggling to make the playoffs.
But ESPN.com’s Craig Custance has rated the top 20 NHLers who could be traded before the March 2 deadline, and lookee here:
A Flyer who hasn’t skated in anger all season has made the list:
20. Kimmo Timonen, D, Philadelphia Flyers
Age: 39 | 2014-15 cap hit: $3.50 million
That he’s skating again after his blood-clot scare is accomplishment enough, but if he returns to action before the trade deadline, he could be thrown into the mix.
Interested teams may only get a few games to look at him before the deadline, but if the Flyers are completely out of it, the veteran defenseman may want an opportunity to win a Stanley Cup. Timonen is an absolute wild card at the deadline, and his situation is worth watching closely.
