The Flyers were left with the 7th overall selection as a result of the NHL Draft Lottery.
“I am excited for our seventh overall selection in this year’s NHL Draft,” said interim GM Daniel Briere.
“This selection is the first step needed to usher our organization into a new era and am looking forward to welcoming our next group of prospects into the Flyers family.”
The Flyers entered the lottery with a 6.5 percent chance at the first overall pick – the seventh-best odds. The Chicago Blackhawks won the lottery to select the top spot, while the Anaheim Ducks won the second overall pick.
