FLYERS RALLY BUT FALL TO BRUINS IN AN EXO, 4-3

The Flyers open the regular season next week in Vegas, but they hung in there last night in an exo against the Boston Bruins.

The Bruins scored the first four goals of the game and held on for a 4-3 victory at Wells Fargo Center.

Dale Weise, Claude Giroux and Travis Konecny scored for the Flyers in a 2:44 span in the third period, but Bruins goalie Dan Vladar made three of his 34 saves the rest of the way to preserve the one-goal lead.

Weise started the Flyers rally with a shorthanded goal at 8:43, Giroux made it 4-2 on the power play at 10:25, and Konecny scored at 11:27.

Peter Cehlarik (4:14) and Brandon Carlo (9:31) gave the Bruins a 2-0 lead in the first period. Chris Wagner scored shorthanded at 12:37 of the second, and Lee Stempniak made it 4-0 at 2:05 of the third.

Flyers goalie Brian Elliott made 24 saves.
