FLYERS FUTURE GOALIE CARTER HART STEPPING UP!

By Julie Glass

If you’re anticipating the Flyers’ future, you might want to concentrate on goalie Carter Hart.

His Everett Silvertips began their championship series with a 2-1 victory over the Swift Current Broncos.

Hart stopped 34 of 35 shots, including a barrage of late shots with the Broncos goaltender pulled, to preserve the win.

“I felt good in the net and we did a really good job of limiting their chances to the outside,” said Hart on the official WHL website. “We did a really good job throughout the whole game of our ‘D’ zone coverage and got a lot of key blocks during the game. Guys were laying their bodies on the line to get the blocks… it just goes to show what this means to our whole group.”

The Broncos struck back in Game 2 with a late goal to tie it 3-3. With the goaltender pulled for an extra attacker, Swift Current forced overtime, where they scored 10 minutes into the first session for a 4-3 victory to even the series.
