FLYERS-BLUES: WILL SEAN COUTURIER FINALLY COME BACK TONIGHT?

By Harry Allison

The Flyers are hoping against hope that Sean Couturier will return from his knee injury for tonight’s game in St. Louis.

They hold the second wild-card seat in the Eastern Conference with 44 points. The Flyers recently put together a 10-game winning streak that was snapped with a 3-1 loss to Dallas on Dec. 17. Including that game, they are 1-2-1 in their last four, and their victory was a shootout win over Washington.

The Flyers give up the seventh-fewest shots per game in the NHL (28.9) but allows the seventh-most goals per game (2.92).

The Blues are 13-2-4 at Scottrade Center this season, and are expected to get Paul Stastny back in the lineup. He missed the team’s 5-2 loss to Tampa Bay with an upper-body injury. Jake Allen, who left the ice late in that game, also practiced yesterday and should be available, although the team has tabbed backup Carter Hutton for the start.
