You think the world is being too tough on the Eagles for their going-through-the-motions attitude the last two games — home losses to the Dolphins and Buccaneers, neither of whom would be confused with the New England Patriots?

Check out what former Eagle linebacker Seth Joyner had to say:

“Unless you’re at the end of the half or the end of the game and you’re trying to run the clock out, that is uncalled for, OK? The first thing that came to my mind was, ‘You freakin’ coward.’ That’s the first thing that came to my mind. You coward. How do you lay down? I can understand if it was a defensive lineman. You want to try to preserve yourself. But you’ve got defensive backs over there on that sideline. He laid down.”

With the Eagles leading 16-3 in the first quarter, Murray on 3rd-and-1 was running toward the sideline and first-down marker. As he approached Dolphins cornerback Brice McCain, who weighs 185 pounds, the 217-pound Murray slid instead of attempting to turn the corner.
