EVEN LEGENDARY COWBOYS EXEC GIL BRANDT LOVES THE EAGLES!

By Art Beitchman

With today’s opening of 2019 Eagles training camp in South Philly, expectations are sky high as franchise QB Carson Wentz enters his fourth NFL season healthy, fit to compete at a high level.

Bolstered by new running backs — Jordan Howard in free agency, Penn State’s highly talented RB Miles Sanders — and the recent one-year contract signing of 36-year-old Darren Sproles, the Birds have the firepower the running game lacked in 2018.

The biggest accolade amazingly came from former Cowboys executive Gil Brandt when he gave an evaluation of the top ten teams talent wise, with the 2019 Eagles being number 1! Here is what Brandt wrote a couple months ago.

“What puts the Eagles in the top spot isn’t just the roster assembled by Howie Roseman, but the core talent is locked into contracts through 2021, it includes QB Carson Wentz, DT Fletcher Cox, TE Zach Ertz, C Jason Kelce.

He also pointed out that “the Eagles depth allows them to build for the future, being able to snag OL prospect Andre Dillard, who will have a year to be groomed to replace future Hall of Famer Jason Peters next season”.

Here are Brandt’s top ten talented teams for the upcoming NFL season.

1—Eagles

2—Cowboys

3—Bears

4—Rams

5—Patriots

6—Chargers

7—Chiefs

8—Saints

9—Browns

10—Colts
