DeMarco Murray scored untouched from the 2.

In preseason game No. 2 against the Baltimore Ravens, a playoff team in 2014, the Eagles totally dominated:

On offense, on defense, and on special teams in the 40-17 beatdown at the Linc last Saturday night.

Eagles QB Sam Bradford broke the seal on the preseason, going 3-5 for 35 yards, engineering an 84 yard TD drive, culminating with a Ryan Mathews 14 yard TD run giving the Birds a 7-0 lead. NFL rush champ DeMarco Murray also got his first action in Midnight Green, scoring on a 2-yard TD run.

The defense continues its solid play, with interceptions by newcomers Walter Thurmond and Byron Maxwell even further validates the offseason upgrades in the secondary.

Almost as impressive as the first-team play in these games, are the second and third teams keeping the pressure up on the Colts and Ravens. This lends credence that this 2015 version of the Eagles might be the deepest in overall talent and depth, on both sides of the football!

And it would appear that Kenjon Barner’s 68-yard punt return locks him in to a roster spot on the final 53. It would be very difficult for Kelly to cut Barner, also a former Oregon Duck.

Further proof the Eagles have gotten the attention of some around the NFL are two Cowboy loyalists. Michael Irvin tweeted during the game “Hey @DallasCowboys, you guys watching how good this @Eagles team looks right now?”

Skip Bayless, the Bloviator in Chief also chimed in, “Even as a lifetime Cowboy fan, must admit Eagles look scary good-Aghlolor, Barner, Maxwell…yes even DeMarco!”

Just halfway through the preseason and these two appear to be already running for cover.

Eagles travel to Green Bay Saturday August 29 at 8pm for a meeting with the Packers at Lambeau Field/NBC-10 TV/Sportsradio 94WIP.
