Zach Ertz’ long good-bye from the Eagles is on hold.

The great tight end has been rumored to be going, either through a trade or getting cut for salary, for what seems like forever.

But he’s still here, and according to The Athletic’s Zach Berman, is still a force in yesterday’s practice:

The best play of the morning was a leaping touchdown catch by Zach Ertz with Darius Slay in coverage.

Ertz continues to be a big factor in the offense despite his awkward roster status. That’s been evident all summer, including in the preseason opener, when he was targeted on the first pass.

He’s playing well, too, and could be considered the best offensive player in camp.

Ertz’s trade value wouldn’t necessarily improve from practices that opponents can’t watch, but there’s little question he can still be a big contributor after a forgettable season.
