EARTH TO PEDERSON: EAGLES DO BETTER WHEN THEY RUN A LOT!

By Harvey Hoffman

Eagles coach Doug Pederson is stuck in the old-Andy Reid rut of passing way more than running the ball.

Even Reid would have adjusted to a quarterback Carson Wentz who seems like a deer in the headlights.

The Birds ran only 23 times yesterday for 156 yards, a 6.8-yards-per-carry average.

They passed it 37 times for 190 yards, a 4.8-yards-per-catch average.

What are we missing?

Of what is Pederson missing?

Eagles are on the left below and Giants on the right:

Passing 190 231
Comp-Att 21-37 21-28
Yards per pass 4.8 7.5
Interceptions thrown 0 0
Sacks-Yards Lost 3-18 3-13
Rushing 156 151
Rushing Attempts 23 36
Yards per rush 6.8 4.2
