EAGLES WENTZ WILL BE CLEARED FOR WEEK 1, BUT FOLES WILL START!

So says the Sports Doc in the San Diego Tribune:

Recovery is not a light switch. If the Eagles are going to wait for Wentz to literally have no limitations, he wouldn’t play until well into the season.

I do believe he could be cleared by Week 1 to be a primarily pocket QB.

Philip Rivers had ACL surgery after the AFC Championship game in January 2008, practiced at 100 days and played without issue, including training camp. He had a 105.5 passer rating in the 2008 season. But he is primarily a pocket passer.

It is pretty clear Wentz wants to play Week 1.

I do not know the precise machinations of the Eagles’ decision-making process.

But a lot of factors will play into this: Wentz was just recently cleared into 11-on-11 and took just 50 percent of the snaps; he had dual ACL and LCL injury; there is only one preseason game left to take snaps (doubt Wentz would play in a week 4 game without starters); he represents the franchise’s long term future.

This all leads me to lean toward Foles starting Week 1:
