Before the Eagles made a splash by trading back to 12 from 6, they tried to move up to the No. 3 overall pick, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, but would only do so if they were able to acquire Zach Wilson. Instead, they trade down and load up for the future.

The Eagles could now hold two 2022 first-rounders and could add a third if Carson Wentz plays either 75 percent of snaps with the Colts, or 70 percent and the team makes the playoffs, per conditions of the trade that sent Wentz to Indianapolis.
