Eagles DE Josh Sweat is inactive for today’s Wild Card game against the Bucs.
Sweat, who was listed with an illness on the injury report, underwent surgery for a “life-threatening” situation this week.
It’s a downgrade to the Eagles’ pass rush after Sweat posted 45 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and a forced fumble in 13 starts this season.
Ryan Kerrigan and Tarron Jackson will pick up Sweat’s snaps.
The rest of the Eagles inactives are QB Reid Sinnett, RB Jason Huntley, OL Nate Herbig, CB Tay Gowan, DB Andre Chachere, and DB Kary Vincent.
Sweat improved every day but it was determined by the doctors today that he was not quite ready. Sweat came close to playing, a credit to the docs and him. https://t.co/Oju7GmKmhk
