EAGLES SETTLING FOR FG’S EARLY WAS A BAD SIGN FOR HURTS AND CO!

By Max Harper

Jalen Hurts completed 26-of-45 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown in the Eagles’ 42-19 loss to the 49ers, adding 20 additional rushing yards and one touchdown.

Hurts exited in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a concussion but returned and finished the game.

Despite a solid effort from Hurts and the offense, a few early drives that ended in field goals instead of touchdowns proved to be costly.

It still wouldn’t have been enough to overcome a 49ers offense that averaged 8.0 yards per play, but at least it would’ve looked closer in the box score.

Hurts and the Eagles scored their first touchdown of the day on a third quarter tush push.

Then, with the game well out of reach, Hurts connected with DeVonta Smith for a two-yard touchdown pass. Despite the loss, the Eagles became the first team to clinch a playoff berth. They’ll look to bounce back next week against the Cowboys.
