EAGLES SECONDARY KEEPING THEM FROM BEING 1ST-RATE DEFENSE!

Says Zach Berman of The Athletic:

The cornerbacks are a problem.

There’s no way of sugarcoating it.

If everyone was healthy, the cornerbacks would be Ronald Darby (above), Jalen Mills, Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas, Avonte Maddox and Cre’Von LeBlanc.

Douglas is the only one of those six sure to play on Sunday. The Eagles are hoping Jones can play after injuring his hamstring last week. But Mills is on PUP, LeBlanc is on IR, Darby is out for an extended period and Maddox’s status is unknown while recovering a concussion and a neck injury that required him to leave last week’s game on a stretcher. Even if Jones is back to pair with Douglas, the Eagles’ other two cornerbacks will be Orlando Scandrick and Craig James. Neither player was on a Week 1 roster.

The Eagles have the NFL’s worst pass defense, allowing 323.8 yards per game. That came with Darby on the field for three games and Maddox for four games. These latest injuries only exacerbate the problem:
