Ryan Mathews has come a long way since last season when he was considered the Eagles’ sissy-boy, soft running back who was just a soft issue injury away from the injury list.
Now that DeMarco Murray is gone, Mathews is considered the Birds’ workhorse back.
And if the Eagles are to beat the Bears tonight they will need to run the football early to set up the pass. Mathews will get to bang the ball inside against Vic Fangio’s 3-4 defense.
