It’s hard to find kernels of good news in the 5-7 Eagles’ week, but here are some:
Running back Ryan Mathews (above) is returning to practice after missing some time due to an MCL sprain. His return comes at a time when the Birds’ offense is at its lowest ebb of the season.
Before injuring his knee, Mathews was running well against the Seahawks. He was able to get downhill and run behind his pads.
Jordan Matthews will return to practice after missing last week’s game with an ankle injury. The team is practicing inside which gives Matthews an opportunity to test out the ankle.
Coach Doug Pederson said that Paul Turner will likely remain in the mix even if Matthews returns to the lineup on Sunday.
Dorial Green-Beckham is going to be held out of practice due to a sore oblique. Pederson said on Monday that Beckham is still likely to play on Sunday.
Halapoulivaati Vaitai will also miss practice as he continues to work his way back from his knee injury.
