When you haven’t won your league’s championship trophy since Dwight Eisenhower was president, it is a good idea to summon up memories of past glories.

Maybe that’s why one of the Eagles’ open practices at training camp, which begins July 25 at the Nova Care complex in South Philly, will be at Franklin Field, where the Birds beat the Green Bay Packers for the 1960 NFL title.

July has always been one of the best months on the sporting calendar, and coach Chip Kelly’s second training camp in midnight green has been much anticipated.

There will be 25 practices — three open practices, two at the Linc, and one at Franklin Field, the Eagles’ home from 1958-to-70.

As Penn’s AD Steve Bilsky aptly stated, “Penn is honored to welcome head coach Chip Kelly, his staff, and the Eagles players back to our campus, and we think it will be a fantastic day for everyone involved”.

Here is the schedule for open practices and the preseason schedule:

July 28th: Public practice at Lincoln Financial Field—12:15PM

August 3rd: Public practice at Lincoln Financial Field—12:15PM
