The Eagles won’t be re-signing defensive end Brandon Graham this offseason, according to Jimmy Kempski/aka Jimmy Stick Figures of Philly Voice.
Graham may have sealed the Eagles’ Super Bowl win over the Pats with his strip sack of Tom Brady last February (above), but this season, he wasn’t very productive owing to off-season ankle surgery and a late start.
Graham registered 39 tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
It took Graham until his sixth NFL season to finally become a starter along Philly’s defensive line, and up until that point, he had accumulated just 17 sacks total over his first five years in the league.
He finished with 51 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles during his first season as a starter in 2015 and then followed that up with 59 stops, 5.5 sacks, a couple of forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in 2016.
Graham’s best season came during the Eagles’ Super Bowl campaign last year, when he recorded 47 tackles, 9.5 sacks, a pair of forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a defensive touchdown.
Philly went 9-7 this year, sneaking into the playoffs during the final week of the regular season. The Eagles went on to upset the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card Round before falling to the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round.
