EAGLES REPORTEDLY HAVE ‘NO INTEREST IN CLOWNEY’ — CURRENTLY

By Michael Bennett

According to NFL insider Adam Caplan, the Eagles currently have “no interest” in free agent edge Jadeveon Clowney.

Clowney entered free agency as one of the most high-profile pass rushers on the market, but it’s now mid-May, and he remains unsigned.

The 27-year-old spent the 2019-20 campaign with the Seattle Seahawks and played in 13 games, registering 31 tackles, three sacks, an interception four forced fumbles, a pair of fumble recoveries and a pair of defensive touchdowns.

While Clowney dealt with a sports hernia injury for much of the second half of the season, his inability to get to the quarterback was still disappointing. Clowney underwent surgery to repair the issue earlier this offseason.

He made three straight Pro Bowls with the Texans between 2016 and 2018, but he has yet to log a double-digit sack campaign in his career, topping out at 9.5 in 2017.

Clowney was traded to the Seahawks last September.
