Jordan Howard rushed an Eagles team-high 17 times for 71 yards and one score in yesterday’s loss to the Chargers.
Howard out-carried Boston Scott 17-10 and Kenneth Gainwell 17-2 as none recorded a single target on Jalen Hurts’ 17 throws.

Scott finished with 10 carries for 40 yards and Gainwell was 2 for 3 yards.
Although they were left out of the receiving game altogether, the running backs have quietly recorded 66 carries over the last two weeks while Hurts has attempted just 31 passes in that time. Even in a committee,
Gainwell was in for a one-yard score on one of his two touches with no rhyme or reason at all.
It’s clear he’s basically lost the role he once had as Philadelphia’s No. 2 running back ever since Jordan Howard, who led the team with 17 carries Sunday, was promoted from the practice squad. Gainwell can be dropped on shallower benches since he does not have any standalone value.
