EAGLES’ CARROLL NEEDS TO SHUT DOWN BEARS’ JEFFERY MONDAY!

By Michael Donovan

As the Eagles prepare for the Bears in Chicago next Monday night, there is one match-up that may hold the key:

Eagles’ CB Nolan Carroll vs. Bears’ WR Alshon Jeffery:

The Eagles, in the past, have not shadowed receivers with a specific cornerback. That could change Monday night.

With veteran cornerback Leodis McKelvin nursing a hamstring injury and expected to miss the game, Carroll is going to have to take on the Jeffery, the Bears’ top threat most of the game.

The 6-3, 216-pound Jeffery, who the Bears placed the franchise tag on this offseason, opened the season with a four-catch, 106-yard performance in a loss to the Houston Texans.

Carroll has the speed, the savvy, and the size, at 6-1, 205, to match up well with him.
