EAGLES NEWBIES SWIFT, CARTER AND RICKS SHOWED THE RIGHT STUFF!

By Art Beitchman

The Eagles first preseason game in the books, losing to the Ravens in Baltimore Saturday night 20-19.

And some new players looked good in their first action.

New running back D’Andre Swift had just two carries but turned in a nice 22-yard run. It looks like he’ll get lots of work in his first year with the Birds after being traded from the Lions.

Top rookie DL Jalen Carter busted up the Ravens play with a quarterback hit, making it clear why he was the 9th overall pick in the NFL draft by the Birds last April.

Other flashes had CB Elias Ricks interception and 31 yard TD return, no doubt showing out to make the final roster spot as the regular season is less than a month away.

This tees up the Birds for their home exo against the Browns on Thursday night.
