The Eagles are not one player away from becoming a team that has missed the playoffs four of the last five years to going to the Super Bowl. They need a lot of players. They need help almost everywhere except tight end. Giving away five, or six, picks, for one shot on a guy who is far from a sure thing is not the way to go.
Carson Wentz (above) has potential. But to trade away six picks for a quarterback who didn’t even play on the Division I level is a risk I’m not willing to take. Jared Goff? I trust the three scouts I talked to last month who all had extreme reservations about the Cal quarterback with the small hands and a 10-23 record against Division I teams.
