MERRILL REESE’S HALL OF FAME CALL: HERE’S 2018 BIRDS SUPE CALL!

By Art Beitchman

Eagles All-World radio play-by-play announcer Merrill Reese is getting a well deserved call to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

It’s quite an honor for Reese, who’s been calling Birds games since 1977.

This next season will be his 48th year behind the mic, longest tenure for a radio man in the NFL.

Reese took over in the 13th game of the 1977 season after the sudden death of his predecessor Charlie Swift.

Reese has had some amazing calls in all those years, but none as good as the Eagles first Super Bowl win ever in 2018:

“Batted down, incomplete, the game is over … the Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions! Eagles fans everywhere, this is for you! Let the celebration begin!”
