It’s no secret where fantasy owners will look for this week’s waiver wire pickups:
Jordan Matthews, Eagles – The call-to-duty for Mark Sanchez has been a blessing for the rookie, who has caught three touchdowns in the past two weeks from his practice partner.
The two worked together all season in practice on the second unit, and now that Sanchez is in to replace the injured Nick Foles, their chemistry could end up being an important late-season development. On Monday, Matthews caught seven passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns, which came one week after he had three catches and a touchdown.
John Brown, Arizona – My favorite sleeper from the preseason has had an up-and-down season — except for his game-winning 75-yard TD catch to beat the Eagles — but is showing signs of being a valuable option down the stretch.
He had five catches for 73 yards and a sensational touchdown catch last week and two weeks ago he had five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown.
The problem for the rookie has been consistently. Between his 119-yard outburst and last week’s showing, he had two catches for 10 yards. And this week he is going against Detroit, which has the NFL’s top-rated defense and third-best pass defense.
