EAGLES’ MALCOLM JENKINS NAMED NFC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF WEEK!

By Annie Ross

Malcolm Jenkins has become the grey eminence for an Eagles team sorely in need of leadership.

And Jenkins’ play against the Patriots last Sunday has been recognized as the NFC defensive player of the week.

Jenkins’ strong play against the New England Patriots in a 35-28 upset victory was highlighted by a 99-yard pick-six off three-time Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady, his fourth interception return for a touchdown of his career as an Eagle.

This season Jenkins leads the team with 79 tackles and two interceptions, but none bigger than Sunday’s which helped seal the Eagles’ biggest win of the season.

Sunday’s honor is the third time in his career that Jenkins has been named the NFC defensive player of the week, but first in an Eagles’ uniform.
