There was mutual interest between the Eagles and Cousins and the Eagles would have been the first team Cousins’ people would have called today when teams are first allowed to talk to other team’s free agents.
Instead, when the franchise tag was placed on the quarterback, Cousins signed it and will be a Redskin for at least another year. That same day, the Eagles signed quarterback Sam Bradford to a two-year, $36 million contract.
