The Arizona Cardinals are hiring Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon as their new head coach just two days after Gannon’s defense gave up 24 second-half points in a 38-35 Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs.
The Eagles accumulated 70 sacks in the regular season, eight more in the playoffs.
And for whatever reason, Gannon never brought a blitz Sunday night, and that allowed Chiefs QB to get KC back in the game and win.
We say good riddance!
Respectful Counterpoint: They might not have as good a defense next season, because they can’t re-sign all the talent. But they’ll never see a DC do less with good talent than Gannon in the Super Bowl. They’ll never have any coach more badly overmatched on the biggest stage. https://t.co/DCOQaoxiL2
