The Eagles’ new structure, in the aftermath of the Chip Kelly carnage, is a direct homage to Joe Banner. Howie Boy Roseman is now Banner, with the owner’s ear and final say. The team is still in the process is looking for the faux-GM to be the new Heckert. And Doug Pederson, the Eagles can only hope, has absorbed much of what made Reid so successful there as a more likeable coach in contrast to the gruff, autocratic, brief regime of Kelly. Owner Jeffrey Lurie asserted that Kelly lacked “emotional intelligence,” something you’d never hear lobbed at Reid.
