Remember Nick Foles?
You know, the guy who had a near-perfect record in 2013, quarterbacking the overachieving Eagles to a 10-6 record and into the playoffs as the NL East division winner while throwing 29 TDs with only two interceptions.
Right, the same guy who suffered a dislocated collarbone 27 days ago.
According to Les Bowen of the Daily News, quoting a source close to Foles — my favorite unnamed variety of source — said he was “healing as expected” from his broken collarbone.
Foles isn’t ready to take a hit yet, but the results of a recent CT scan showed he can start ramping up his strengthening work.
The timetable for his return remains uncertain, but if Mark Sanchez continues to play capably — let alone as well as he did against the Turkey Cowboys on Thanksgiving day — there will be less incentive to push Foles before he’s completely healed.
