HERE’S WHY EAGLES DEMARCO, MATHEWS ARE GREAT FANTASY PICKS!

By Annie Ross

If you’re a heavily invested fantasy holder of Eagles running backs, these are your salad days.

With quarterback Sam Bradford now looking like a shaky leader, coach Chip Kelly will more often than not depend on his running backs, who have delivered when in scoring range.

As ESPN has noted, the Eagles are averaging 2.0 running plays per game in the Red Zone, and have scored on 42 percent of those attempts. That’s the league’s sixth-best conversion rate.

One area of weakness is their inability to actually get into scoring range. The Eagles are averaging 3.8 plays per game within 10 yards of the goal line, which ranks 23rd.

Those heavily invested in DeMarco Murray can feel better knowing the team is relying heavily on its backs when in scoring position.
