EAGLES CARSON WENTZ IS SOOOOOO HAPPY TO BE PLAYING IN JANUARY!

By Annie Ross

Want to know how happy Eagles fourth-year quarterback Carson Wentz is to finally be playing in a playoff game — the Birds wild card game this Sunday against the Seahawks at the Linc?

“Grateful for my health, grateful to be out here with the guys in these big meaningful games. Grateful to be playing into January,” he said on Eagles.com. “The last few weeks have been backs-against-the-wall [games] for us. Guys have responded and stepped up and kept making play after play after play. Just kept believing. And here we are playing into January. Hopefully, we can do something special.”

Since drafting Wentz the Eagles have played in five playoff games, none of which he was healthy enough to play in. Nick Foles was the fill in when Wentz was out and did something that had never been done before in Philadelphia—win a Super Bowl. Wentz has a lot of pressure on him to match Foles and get a Super Bowl victory.

If the Eagles are going to lift the Lombardi Trophy again this season it’s going to be Wentz throwing to a lot of young receivers. Nelson Agholor isn’t expected to play on Sunday and all signs are also pointing towards Zach Ertz also being out.

It’s what Eagles gunslinger has been used to the last few weeks and the team is up to the challenge.
