The Athletic is reporting that Bucs quarterback Tom Brady should be able to play Thursday at the Eagles after injuring his thumb in Sunday’s win over the Dolphins.
The team will continue to monitor the injury, which he sustained when he hit his hand on a Dolphins helmet in the second quarter. Brady had his right thumb wrapped after the game.
Brady still passed for 411 yards and five touchdowns in a 45-17 win over Miami on Sunday. The 44-year-old leads the NFL with 1,767 passing yards through five weeks.
The Bucs will be without linebacker Lavonte David, though, who will miss some time after suffering a low-ankle sprain, a source said. He’s considered week-to-week. David is second on the team in tackles.
