EAGLES BRINGING IN RB EZEKIEL ELLIOTT: NOW THAT MAKES SENSE!

By Mary Cunningham

While the Eagles bringing in college quarterbacks for draft tryouts is a head-scratcher, especially considering they have two under contract, Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel, running backs are a different story.

The Eagles will host Ezekiel Elliott for a pre-draft visit, the Ohio State running back said yesterday in an interview with the NFL Network.

Elliott is widely considered the best running back in this year’s draft class and projected by some as a top-ten selection. The Eagles have been linked to Elliott in several mock drafts.

As a junior, Elliott rushed for 1,821 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior in 2015 averaging 6.3 yards per carry.

The Eagles’ interest in Elliott is not surprising given that Ryan Mathews, Darren Sproles and Kenjon Barner are the most experienced running backs on the roster and none of them is a feature back.
