Just in case you were wondering about left tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai, who has replaced Jason Peters, here’s what Eagles coach Doug Pederson thinks:

“You can’t be a Jason Peters or whoever it might be,” Pederson said when he was asked about Vaitai during his press conference yesterday with the media. “When I was in Green Bay and playing, you can’t be (Hall of Fame quarterback) Brett Favre. You have to be you and be the best you can be, and that’s the case with V. Just let your talent show, trust your ability, trust your instinct and good things will happen. That’s what you’re seeing out of him.

“He’s another one who is incrementally getting better and better and better,” said Pederson. “I’m calling less protection help to his side. He’s just really coming into his own. He’s trusting his instinct, trusting his skill, trusting his coaching. (Offensive line coach Jeff) Stout, Eugene (assistant offensive line coach Eugene Chung) do a great job getting him ready and all the guys ready each week. He (Vaitai) has done a really nice job.”
