Every time you read about the Eagles locking in stalwarts like Zach Ertz, Brent Celek and Vinny Curry leaves less money for quarterback Sam Bradford.
Eagles Big Boss Howie Boy Roseman has no investment in Bradford, since it was the hated and now fired Chip Kelly (above) who traded for him.
It looks like Roseman is getting ready to cut Bradford loose into free agency!
How will new head coach Doug Pederson and the Eagles go about his looming free agency?
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles don’t plan on using the franchise tag on Bradford. In fact, the team might actually be pursuing a trade for Nick Foles, who started 24 games in Philadelphia from 2012-14.
Bradford was good, but far from great, for the Eagles in 2015. He threw 19 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, with a passer rating of 86.4. Given the NFL quarterback market, Philadelphia will likely have to pay big money to keep him around. But as it stands now, it can’t be considered a sure thing that Pederson and the Eagles’ new staff truly wants him as their starting quarterback in 2016.
