EAGLES BEWARE! REDSKINS’ D-JAX MIGHT BRING A BAT THIS SUNDAY

By Annie Ross

Redskins coach Jay Gruden is starting to talk like a man on a mission to save his job!

If DeSean Jackson doesn’t get the ball more, starting with this Sunday’s game against the Eagles, Gruden could be in serious trouble:

“We have to try to get our playmakers the ball a little bit more, there’s no question about it,” Gruden said about Jackson after yesterday’s practice. “But we can’t force the issue either. But, when I wake up at 5:30 in the morning or four o’clock and he’s standing there outside in the garage with a baseball bat I think I better give him the ball.

“He deserves the ball a little bit more,” he continued. “But, I’ll tell you what he does do is, he dictates a lot of the coverage which does open it up for other people. Even against Cleveland I mentioned those two pass interference calls that don’t hit the stat lines but those were big plays. And then he had a couple of opportunities last week against Baltimore… we didn’t hit him but he’s still a major, major threat out there that doesn’t go unnoticed by the defenses, I promise you that.”
