EAGLES AND CHIP WILL SET THE PACE TONIGHT VS. FALCONS

By Harry Allison

So, new Atlanta Falcons coach iDan Quinn sn’t intimidated by the prospect of facing Eagles coach Chip Kelly’s fast-paced offense tonight in the opening game for both teams.

Or so he says!

Last week, Quinn said that there isn’t anything inherently different about the way that Kelly’s scheme seems predicated on dictating the pace of a game.

“As we went through the whole offseason we knew there were certain weeks that teams run more tempo than others and some you have to prepare for,” Quinn said during a conference call Thursday. “They’re not unique in the league in terms of trying to play fast.

“We know it’s part of the game. It’s how we play. We’ve really been operating in that function knowing that there will be teams throughout the year that play that way. It really comes down to our technique and how we play. That’s really the emphasis and the point I try to drive home to our guys.”
